Christie Spencer

I am the HR/Recruitment Specialist for AMIK™ and a proud First Nations woman from Norway House Cree Nation.  In my role I lead the recruitment and retention process by screening and coaching job seekers who want to connect with some of Canada’s top employers. I pride myself on creating lasting connections with the people I work with by celebrating their success and offering guidance and coaching during challenging times.

Before joining AMIK I worked in the Financial Services industry for a Big Bank and some local Credit Unions. Starting at the bottom and working my way into Management allowed me to really understand the needs of the business and how to grow and develop a strong team.

When I’m not at work you can find me at some sporting event. I’m a proud hockey mom and believe in giving back to my community, which is why my husband and I volunteer our time to our local hockey association. We’ve been married for 10 years and have two amazing children, so we are always running. When I do find some time for myself I enjoy movie marathons and relaxing with a good book.
I’m truly passionate about all of the work I’ve done but have found working for and with my people to be the most rewarding. I look forward to many years of continued success in helping Indigenous people realize their gift, talents, skill and abilities.

Christie is currently the HR/Recruitment & Retention and Smart Work Ethics Specialist at AMIK Inc.

AMIK is a 100% Aboriginal owned company that is focused on recruitment, retention, cultural sensitivity training and bringing opportunities to the people.
