Jason  is a reporter with a focus on Indigenous issues, first with the Saskatoon StarPhoenix newspaper and currently with CBC Saskatoon. Jason has covered the La Loche school shootings and the death of Colten Boushie, but also written dozens of features about the numbered treaties, the 1885 resistance, First Nations and Metis education, housing and language. He was a part of the CBC's massive project on the TRC Calls to Action called Beyond 94.

Jason was an organizer of a 2016 conference called Reconciliation and the Media which brought together First Nations leaders and residential school survivors with local radio, tv and newspaper journalists and editors. He also created a toolkit for reporters covering Indigenous issues.
